Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotel. City sighseeing with visits to National History Museum, Bogd Khan Winter Palace Museum and Gandan Monastery. Hotel. (L+D)

 

Day 2. Khatgal

Fly to Murun town, the center town of Khuvsgul province and a meeting point with your travel team. Your vehicles and a team will meet you at the Airport.  Drive to Khuvsgul lake. Guest house. (B+L+D)

 

Days 3-4. Darkhad Valley

Leave the lake and head to the west, pass Jigleg mountain pass. On the mountain pass you will see the beautiful Darkhad Valley where the entrance to the Tsaatan people (reindeer people). Overnight in tents. (B+L+D)

 

Day 5. Tsagaan Nuur lake

Today we will cross Darkhad Valley heading towards Tsagaan nuur lake and  will reach the northest soum of Mongolia, Tsagaan Nuur. Overnight in tent near the village. (B+L+D)

 

Day 6. Horse Riding

Here we meet our horses and  reload our luggage on horsebacks and will leave our vehicles, as the landscape becomes difficult to access with cars. Trekking sessions for 4-5 hours a day. Tented camp. (B+L+D)

 

Days 7-8. Taiga Forest and Tsaatan ethnic group

These days we will meet the Tsaatan people and explore their daily lifestyle. These enigmatic people herd reindeer not only for their antlers, a lucrative medicinal material, but as well for their milk and meat. And people say, most powerfull shamans live among the Tsaatan people. If you want to ride a reindeer here’s your chance. (B+L+D)

 

Day 9. Tsagaan Nuur lake

Go back to Tsagaan Nuur to meet our cars and drivers. Overnight in guesthouse in the village. (B+L+D)

 

Day 10. Horseback tour ends

Continue our horse riding until we reach the river pass. Afternoon we will cross the river by ferry, here is a time to say goodbye to your horse. Overnight in tent near the river where our horse riding activitiy finishes. (B+L+D)

 

Day 11.  Renchinlhumbe

Today we reach Renchinlhumbe village for the leisure night in guest house. Here you can experience countryside village life. (B+L+D)

Day 12. Jigleg Mountain pass

Heading to Khuvsgul lake. On the way pass “13 ovoo- mountain pass”. Tented camp near Khuvsgul. (B+L+D)

 

Day 13. Khuvsgul lake

Another day of driving will finally bring us to the Lake Khuvsgul, the right place to enjoy the well deserved rest after several days of driving. The Lake Khuvsgul located in the northwest of Mongolia near the border to Russia. It is about 1100m above the sea level, 136 km long and 262 m deep. It is the second most freshwater lake in Asia. The town of Khatgal is at the southern end of the Lake. The lake is surrounded by several mountain ranges. The surface of the lake freezes over completely in winter and the ice festival organized annually in early February which becoming quite attractive event in winter tourism in Mongolia. Once we get to the lake we have free time to wander around the lake and hiking around before the dinner will be served. If you wish here is a great place to hire a boat. We will stay overnight in a tourist camp. (B+L+D)

 

Day 14. Uushigiin Uvur deer stone site                                                                       

After breakfast in the camp heading to Murun town. On the way, visit A bronze age site, Uushigiin Uvur Contains 14 upright carved deer stones, plus sacrificial altars (kheregsuur) scattered over 6km plain. Overnight in tourist camp.  (B+L+D)

Day 15.  Ulaanbaatar

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Relax time at the hotel. Shopping. Evening cultural performance. Farewell dinner. Hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 16. Departure

Transfer to the Airport. Tour ends. (B)
